Egg eating maddness!!!!

Thank you. Was just about to order meal worms when I found this great post so i'll be ordering "tasty grubs" aka black soldier fly larvae:

I have some nuts (and eggs) I can give her in the interim. The odd thing is, she is only eating her own egg. She leaves the other two (for now).
Thx again!!

I have fed both the worms and the tasty grubs to my birds. They prefer the mealworms, hands down! Just thought I'd share.

Can you put curtains in front of the nesting box? It can help if the nesting box is really dark, so that they can't see well enough to eat the eggs.

Thanks everyone. I increased their protein which worked for a few days and then didn't work. So then I tried the curtain and voilla! ..no egg eating for two days! And then, all three of them started laying in the nesting box w/ no curtain (2 nesting boxes in my coop). But still, no egg-eating, so I'm happy...until I came home last night and there was an eaten egg

So I moved the curtain to the box they now prefer and this morning, there were no eaten eggs. So I'll just keep playing around or maybe hang a curtain in front of each of the boxes for certainty. I'm encouraged because so far, the other girls haven't started eating their eggs and Anabelle Rae isn't eating them consistently.
Happy Mother's Day to all!!

So, I've left the curtain and there has been no egg eating. Has anyone been successful removing the curtain or does it need to stay there indefinitely?

I'm so glad you're having success! I don't know when or if you can remove the curtain. This problem with egg eating often starts when one chicken is laying soft shelled eggs sometimes, so if any of the chickens still ever lay soft shelled eggs, you'll still have a problem.
