What type of duck is the one with the spot on his head. Kinda dark down the back. My dad thinks it's a mutt.

Also, the brown duck, is it a mallard and why is his neck shaped like an S? He is thriving. I took in these ducks for someone who couldn't care for them

One of my pekins is like that. Not that bad anymore but it was.

I believe it may be a niacin deficiency. My guy that has his neck like that is the biggest one of 6 and seems to be just fine. He even seems more friendly than the other 5. Te bigger he gets the better his neck gets though

Looks like my Silver appleyard babies

The two in the bowl are the silver appleyards

As for the one with the neck issue, oh boy I have no idea! But it looks like a Rouen more than a mallard.

Uff dah. Niacin deficiency? I bought them Purina start and grow because it was all I could find. I'll check if it has niacin. I have been feeding them fine chopped kale and a chopped veggie mix of carrots, corn, green beans, and peas.

Yeah I've read on here (I'm new to ducks so I read A LOT haha) that the niacin that's in the feed isn't always enough and they may need supplements of it or brewers yeast (and only brewers yeast, not any other kinds)

It is likely wry neck and can be often reversed if treated quickly. Caused by a VitB deficiency. Add niacin to their water or food with niacin tables or brewers yeast

I'll try to find some brewers yeast maybe at the grocery store. My local feed store is very limited. They sold electrolytes and that was all. No duck food, just chicken. The old man working there told me chicken food was ok as long as it wasn't medicated.
