Mourning Dove

I I have a mourning dove in my bathroom window where I just moved, an she laid an egg 4days ago. 2 days ago my cats discovered her one morning while we were in the bathroom an the got up on the window sill and scared her away. While im at work my fiancé has kept an eye out for her but she hasn't returned Being the stupid animal lover I am, I couldn't leave it in the nest motherless. I've helped so many motherless animals (bunnies, ferrets, rats, puppies, kittens, raccoons, squirrels) but never had a bird from before they hatch, I always seem to help the ones that already hatched n are hurt or something.
I am all about using google so I googled somethings last night when I brought the egg in an made a makeshift incubator. Shoe box, rags, stuffed animals an a heat lamp that I had for my reptiles. .
I also know that they lay one egg in the evening and the next the following morning, she only laid one...
I guess im just looking for some extra advice if anyone has any!!!

If the egg hatches the squab will be very small, nearly naked, helpless, and blind. Doves feed by regurgitation; bringing food up from the crop. This is hard to simulate with something so small. In past years I hand fed a half grown mourning dove and that was hard. Good luck.
