That is my pond and this morning I found one of roosters dead in it I have the pond for a month now for my two ducks I think my rooster fell in while fighting there is only one rooster in that side now should I worry about more falling in I could section that off for only ducks (have two five more in the brooder) would a ramp help in any way my mom cried a lot it was of the two that would follow u around and sit in your lap. Any advise its a small pond and I worry a ramp would ruin it for the ducks they never died in the kiddie pool I had in there for over a year but that was not in the ground

There is a good chance it could happen again. Can you put some bricks and cinder blocks in the pond? If they fall in, they might have a chance to get back out if they find the blocks. Due to the odd shape of the pond, a chicken that falls in could be in danger of becoming trapped in one of the sections, so I would put blocks in two or three places. You could also block the pond off, but chickens can jump so the fencing would need to be very high.

That pond likely has ledges on some of the sides. Place a brick/stone/something that will allow both the ducks and the chickens to get out if needed.

I have lost chickens this way over the years. Now I keep the ducks and chickens separated. I thought only baby birds would not understand about water being too liquid to stand on but grown chickens are not so smart either. I could have taken away the duck ponds but I prefer to confine the chickens more since it is for their own good and let the ducks continue to enjoy getting wet.
