I will be hatching out my first batch ever. I will be selling them at a local fur and feather event in my small town. My question is what do I take them in and what do I send them home in? This is my first time. Any information would be helpful. They are RIR and they will be about 2 we is old and about 40 of them.

Thank you

Some hatchery's sell the cardboard boxes with the holes in them that they use for shipping their own chicks, you could get a few of those. They might have to be the bigger boxes since they will be older though. You could also just get some normal cardboard boxes and punch some holes in them, not too big but big enough for a few 2 week old chicks these will be taller for them. I have never done this but these are just my suggestions. Good luck!

I use wire cages with doors on top, as suggested by aart. And I send them home in whichever size card board boxes I have available (I poke holes in them for ventilation and put a bit of bedding in the bottom). A lot of buyers do bring their own boxes, cat carriers or small dog crates though. Good luck!
