I'm wondering if anyone could confirm these are female. They are rhode island bantams. Their combs are still small. I'm not sure why their combs are so pink today is this normal for almost 7 week? Although it is -1 outside when I took the pictures. The chick that's a lot more red is a warren cross and 9 week old

I don't see any red combs in the pictures. I'm surely not a expert but my guess is pullet.see what others have to say?

I was told they were pullets when we got them almost 3 weeks ago. What age do pullets combs start to turn a little pink? Xx

I really hope they are. I live in a built up area and can't have roo's. :) I love them so much already :) :)

The pullet comb will turn red when they reach point of lay usually at 4 to 6 months old ( dependant on breed how early or late ) hope this answers your question. :) best wishes. Pink is OK but a EARLY (before 4 to 6 months) red is a indication of a male.

I've just added new pictures. The first ones were yesterday. I got up to a bad frost this morning and their combs are quite pink. Is this normal?

Its perfectly normal for combs to change colour - sometimes throughout the course of a day - depends on temperatures, their level of excitement etc.
