I am designing a coop that will be located inside an unheated garage (so, a structure inside a structure). It will have a large outdoor run to go with it. The coop will be roughly 8ft by 5ft by 4ft tall (for 6-7 cold hardy chickens). It will be off the ground. I am having trouble deciding on insulating it or not. I understand the importance of ventilation and since the garage won't have a draft, I'm tempted to skip it. I live in northwestern Wisconsin and we do get below zero weather with a few severe days of -30 or so. Thoughts? Suggestions?
