Do they free range too?
I think that fermentation valve on top of bucket only allows out-gassing...won't allow air into as a vacuum braker for watering system.
I think you have a kink in your hose too.

I'd like to free range them, but would prefer to have a perimeter fence up around the property first. I don't think that's going to happen for quite some time. They'll be in the coop for at LEAST the next couple of weeks while they learn where their new home is, so maybe some supervised range afterwards.
So far, with the bucket, we haven't had a problem with water flow. I test periodically to make sure all is still good and the birds are getting water. As far as the kink, it's more like a twist in the hose. It's not pinched
