Hi guys, never posted before but have been reading you posts intently for the past few weeks.

My question is, there is very little space in the incubator and one of our newly hatched babies is insisting on laying on top of it's weaker sibling.... I panicking like mad that the one underneath is going to suffocate...There is very little space, and the two stronger chicks are doing the birdie dance on top of the rest, do I risk removing some of the empty shells? I have a brooding box all ready, do I whip out some of the slightly older fluffed out chicks... or do I leave them be? Thanks in advance.

Hi :welcome

I see you posted over 12 hours ago so was just wondering what you did? I'm not an opener of the incubator but if it's looking full of chicks I will quickly move the dry ones to brooder. I have a Brinsea too and it holds and gets back up to high humidity pretty quick so I'm hoping it's been the same for you if you have moved them.

Hi and welcome to BYC - glad that you have joined us and congrats on your hatch! Y/ Coop has given you some great advice, so i hope that all goes well for you.

Best wishes

Thanks for your advice! Yeah, I decided to chance it... I took the older chicks out as they were jumping all over the newer weaker arrivals... and put them in the brooder. They seem much happier :)
