Hi all,

a couple quick questions for you experts :)

How are off the wall does the roost need to be? is 6-8 inches enough? I wanted it close to one wall so that it would be away from the feeder/waterer to help keep those clean.

Also, when chickens are full grown, about how far off the ground to I want the bottom of the feeder and waterer?

Here's what I've got so far...getting there! tons of

work!

You want the feeder and waterer to be the height of you chickens backs- it's a very good idea to make them adjustable. It depends on the kind/ size of chickens you are getting. For the roosts- think about how long half or your longest bird is. Make it that far away. It is a little weird, but it is accurate. And yes, pretty much don't go closer than 6-8 inches. *sorry for spelling errors.

Hi and thanks for the reply! I do have a chain hanging from the roof framing for the feeder/waterer, but would also love to get it the right height before the baby chicks move out there and mess it all up lol. I got cinnamon queens which seem to also go by buff rocks, golden comets, golden sex links. I think 6-8 should work for them based on the half their full grown length. thanks :)
