G day, first time poster!

I am wanted to get 2 five week old Plymouth Rock chicks to add to my flock.

I currently have 4 chicks all at 5 weeks old also (2 white leghorns, 2 black australorps)

i want to know what measures I need to take in introducing them to each other and the quarantine time line for 5 week olds?

Any info would be great, cheers smile.png

Hi and welcome to BYC - glad that you have joined us.

I'd suggest that 30 days is ok for quarantine, but this duration may not be necessary if you got all your chicks from the same source.

These links may help you re: introductions, but for such young birds it should not be so traumatic (for you or them).

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele

I believe the best integration approach  is the "Look but, don't touch" method.   You can probably locate that info through the search box. I believe at around 2 weeks of age chicks are already forming the pecking order.- so it may involve a lot of changes in the ranks when both groups meet up.
