When can I start feeding my 2 month Olds more than just starter crumbles?

8-10 weeks is the average age to switch them over to grower/all flock feed... and if they're outside and have access to grit you can give them treats... just make sure they don't over do it on treats... there's a treat list thread, I'll post a link to it for you...

You did the right thing seperating the drake from the mom and ducklings. It's so easy to want to put our human emotions and feelings on our animals. We couldn't even imagine the human father killing his offspring. But as you have unfortunately learned animals will kill their young. I put up fencing within our duck pen to seperate the drake before our ducklings hatched. I hated to do it, but I've read too mich to trust him. You really have to keep them seperated until they are the size of mom which in duck time is actually pretty quick as they grow so fast.

If you have a TSC near you, check out Purina Flock Raiser... you can give it to all your ducks of all ages... it's all I feed mine, hatch to lay, and it is wonderful... don't really need the extra brewers yeast either... smile.png

To be honest I wasn't 100 percent sure what day she started and I wasn't positive they were gonna hatch. But I learned a hard lesson.do you think it affects her at all what he did? She's really great with them.this is her keeping her eye on them babies.put them in a pin so they can get out with mom. they are so sweet
