I have 2 full-sized Cochin chicks that are 6 weeks old. I'm nervous that one could be a roo just because their sizes are SO different. The gold laced one feathered out much more quickly and is already getting quite large and plump. The silver laced one feathered out much slower and is still smaller and thinner. I don't know if size is an indicator of gender at this point in this breed?
Also, the back/tail feathers of the gold-laced look quite different than the back/tail feathers of the silver-laced - on the silver one, the back/tail feathers have the laced pattern, on the gold one, they're smaller, fluffier, black feathers. Again, I'm not sure if that even means anything?
If anyone has any insight, I'd be so grateful! Thanks!
