With her face into the ground? Or am I missing something?

Most chicks will sleep all the way into the ground. Or if you mean that she fell asleep in your hand its because shes relaxed!

A proud member of 4h and a strong bearer of the Pacific Northwest and its Cold, not to mention a chicken mommy of 3 Cochins, 1 Sicilian Buttercup, 2 Bantam EE, 1 RIR/EE Mix, 1 Mille Fleur Booted Bantam, and 2 bantam OEGB's, a Black Bearded Silkie and a double laced silver Plymouth Bantam!

I've seen chicks sleep every way except, well, no.  There are no exceptions!

My wife freaked out a bunch of times "Is it still alive?!", and a quick poke always proved a "yes".

My favorite sleeper to date always passes out with it's head in the feeder. I even caught him getting dreary across the brooder, staggering over, and faceplanting in a fresh mound of feed.

To each their own.
