I've got a lovely bourbon red hen gone broody, and I wonder if she would be able to hatch some duck eggs for me? I've been waiting for the duck herself to go broody, but our drake just got sick and now I'm afraid we won't have any more fertile duck eggs very shortly so I'm desperate to hatch out the last fertile eggs we've got. I can't find anyone with an incubator locally, but I have this big ol' warm turkey. Could it work?? To my knowledge, this is the hen's first time going broody, so I don't know how reliable she is.

I don't know of any reason that a broody turkey couldn't hatch duck eggs. I had a BBB hen hatch goose eggs. Unfortunately BBBs do not make good mothers as she stepped on one of the goslings and killed it. The other one survived her injuries. A heritage hen such as your Bourbon Red should not have any problems hatching duck eggs.
