Hello! I have a two week old Barred Rock. She has been very 'runty' since I brought her home. Out of my 13 new chicks, she is the only one who has had pasty butt trouble. She runs around, jumps, flies, and acts totally normal, but doesn't seem to be growing. Her butt problem seemed to clear up around the 1 week mark, and I thought we were in the clear with her. Her crop has always seemed bigger than any of the other girls, but I just assumed it was because of how little she was. The last two days, I noticed her crop was still big in the morning. I wasn't sure what to do for her. Now this morning, it is normal, but she is pooping a LOT ~ not runny ~ and it is all tinged with some blood. The blood looks like the intestinal shedding blood. Again, though...she is acting totally normal. I am not sure if this is okay! If I saw this blood in any other droppings, I probably wouldn't be worried about it. But she has really pooped a lot this morning, and it all has a bit of that blood in it. I even cleaned some off of her rear end, and then she dropped a little on me I would love to know your thoughts! I assume it isn't contagious to my other babies? And is there something I should do to help her get through this? Thanks so much for your help!!!
