I thought there was a forum for DIY incubators maybe I am losing my marbles

so please forgive me if this is in the wrong place.

As some of you know I had issues with my Farm Innovators Still air and it bit the dust while incubating.. So now I have this styrofoam incubator that has no heating element. Wondering if I should buy a new heating element and fan kit and turn it into a circulated air (i seem to have best luck with my farm innovators circulated air)... I know as a hatching addict tossing the usable parts of the incubator wouldn't be thrifty.

Any great ideas from you handy dandy DIYers?
 
Do I just toss the dead heating element/heater?? I know I am not mechanical and could not fix it. My hubby is good with figuring that stuff out but he's over his head with stuff to do right now so not giving him another project.
 
and that is the other question, how do I know if it is the thermostat or heating element I need to replace?? the red light stopped working first so I am 'assuming' it is the thermostat that went?
