Hens have STOPPED LAYING

I have 11 hens. 6 RIR and 5 Golden Comets. I had them all in one smaller coop and was getting 8 eggs a day. I separated them so they would have more room and now my golden comets haven't laid an egg in over a week and my RIRS are only laying 1 to 2 eggs per day. I've also noticed that 4 of my RIRS are loosing feathers on their breast area and wings. I have a rooster in the coop with the RIRSjust FYI. Any ideas as to why they've stopped? Also should I put them back together since they were laying better that way?

Your birds have had a very recent disruption to their lives -- as birds of routine they can be put off by change.  A disruption in production is a very common response to change in laying hens -- give them time to adjust to the new arrangement and they *should* resume laying.

How old are the RIR and where are you located in the world?  Has the feather loss only been since the change or was it occuring prior to it as well?

Where are we going, and why are we in this hand basket?

I live in Georgia. My RIRs were about a year old, supposedly, when I bought them which was a month ago. It has been since the change.
