they are rhode island reds, the most common for little 4h kids to show, I only bought the leghorn because I wanted to see what color my roo is carrying I think blue but it would be brown, my hen lays a light green to blue color and they came from the same place, and I know they can be rather unfriendly, but if you handle them enough they will become friendly, another option for littles are silkies.

 

I wanted to get a few silkies but we have a lot of hawks around here and I want free grazing chickens. Silkies, i've been told, can not be free grazers bc they can't see with their top feathers.
