Just sfarted setting my 31 exhibition Rouen and Aylesbury eggs, going to hand turn them because they are so large they don't fit the turner very well. Got a lousy hatch last year, hatched 1 Aylesbury and 1 Rouen out of the same # of eggs, so doing something different this year, hand turning and going to keep the temperature a little bit lower. Wish me luck please!

Stashed the remaining space with 2 dozen plus call duck eggs.

41 call eggs in this incubator, 5 started on 4-6, 14 started on 4-12, and the remainder started today, 12 exhibition quality shipped gray call eggs, and the remainder from my own little flock. Fortunately, had a large mallard hen just start setting, so put 18 shipped white call eggs in her nest, and moved her eggs into my incubator, will have to keep a watch on ber to make sure she's staying on the eggs and not faking it. My only chicken hen seems to be harassing the mallard because she likes to lay in the duck nest, might just be catching my 2 chickens tonight when it gets dark, and giving them away.

From dozens and dozens of eggs put in the incubator, so far only have 1 duckling to show for it so far, very hopeful for the 5 and 14 growing embyos, but so far very bad luck at hatch time. I think my hatch site has poor something or other, not good for embryos, maybe high natural radiation level? High radon level? Candled my 9 expensive shipped pastel call duck eggs from Waehington state today on day 8, not a single fertile one, but several fertile ones from my own flock started the same day.

16 white call and 2 gray call eggs under my oversized mallard hen, will candle them in 10 days along with the 12gray call eggs in the incubator and any not fertile under her, can replace them with fertile ones from the incubator, looking forward to my best ever tiny call duck hatch. :)
