English house sparrows !

How do I keep sparrows out of hen house? My hens free range so each morning I open the door and leave it open until dark. When there is feed in the hen house, the sparrows are inside by the dozens!! They fly through the hen sized door!!Only solution I have so far found is to only leave feed out over night when door is closed!!
I tried an on demand feeder where hens pecked to dispense feed.Hens pecked so much there was always an abundance for the Sparrows also.

Sparrows are great opportunists - that's why they survive in severe weather, Nile virus, everything else.    I hope that works for you,  nothing seems to stop them out here.

Hi and welcome to BYC - i have a similar problem with monkeys - may be less stressful to accept their presence, after doing all you can to deter them.
