Muscovy babies

Okay. I'm in quite a pickle. About 3 weeks ago one of my Muscovy's hatched an egg. The baby is 3 weeks old and is doing great. Two more of my Muscovy"s hatched eggs yesterday. That's three more babies. They hatch them in a chiminea in the backyard. It's elevated off the ground. So in my brilliantness, I decided to build them a large nest in my chicken coop so they could be under a heating lamp. One of the females has taken to it and the Ducks are nice and nestled under the heating lamp. The other duck is not so fond of the idea. I'm sure she'll come around. My problem is, that the duck that hatched the egg 3 weeks ago acts like she is terrified of the new babies. The two Drakes are acting very aggressive towards the new mothers. Will everyone just grow up and all get along? Do I need to keep each and everyone separated? The three new babies are a day old and they will follow any duck that they see. I've noticed that the males will nip at them and so will be 3 week old mama. I thought everyone was supposed to live in peace. Any words of wisdom?

Ducks can sometimes astonish us with how they do not get along.

For their safety, I would separate.  And I know, this is a big pain in the neck.  But ducklings can hurt each other, drakes can really do some serious harm, and even confused mama ducks can be trouble.  So, take note of how it's going and divide them up.

The consolation I can offer is - it's temporary - the ducklings will grow up, everyone can be reintroduced.  And I feel it's better to go through this challenge protecting everyone than to deal with the heartbreak of injury and death.

Thank you so much for your input. I'm playing referee right now to a bunch of five-year-olds it feels like trying to get everybody to bed. I think the boys are on their own tonight. Haha
