Very odd situation with 1 week old chick...

Thought I post a progress report. As far as we can see #7 has fully recovered. She does everything that the others do. Runs all over, plays, flies here and there and all other goofy chicken stuff. Shows no ill effects what so ever. She appears to be perfectly healthy and happy.

Yay!!! I love chicken stories with happy endings!

Hi! I’m going through the same situation with my 2 week old Silkie chick. I have nutridrench and I’m wondering how often you fed yours with a q-tip? I want to give her enough to get better but don’t want to accidentally overdose! Thank you! So glad your chick got better :)

She looks to be suffering from wry neck or encephalomalacia. It is a neurological symptom usually a sign of Vitamin E deficiency. Give her vitamin E and the mineral selenium daily. Poultry NutriDrench contains both of those, and give the chick 1/2 ml by mouth daily, and dip her beak into water as much as possible. If you can't find Poultry NutriDrench, then use SaveAChick or other vitamins with electrolytes, and give her a little egg daily for selenium. Adding some water to the chick crumbles may get her to eat and drink better. Let us know how she does with the vitamins.
I know this is an old post but I have 1 week old duckling suffering from wry neck. I do you give1/2 ml undiluted NutriDrench or is is it 1/2 ml of the diluted dosage on the packaging? I'm having trouble finding out exactly how much of the undiluted nutriDrench I give and how often. Once a day, every 8 hours? Would appreciate help from anyone.

Did you get an answer? I am wondering the same thing and how much of the undiluted ND to use.
