One of my ducks has started hatching....4 days early! I noticed around noon yesterday it had piped. Last night around 11 it had partially zipped. This morning it looks the same, and is chirping and trying hard to get out. I'm not sure if it is in the right position or not. Every once in a while a foot comes out of the pip. How long should I let it go before I help? Any advice is much appreciated. This is my first time hatching in an incubator. Here is a pic of how far along the hatch is.

If he is making progress and you can see him moving around then I would just let him do his thing. It can take FOREVER as I have recently learned but if it is peeping and moving around, you will be better off letting him get there himself because opening up the bator to help can hurt him more than help. Good luck!

Thank you! The suspense is killing me! Lol He is really moving and chirping so I will leave him be. I just don't know how long is too long. I'm worried because he is so early also - I hadnt even locked down my bator yet when I noticed he was hatching.
