I have a 1 year old hen, Brenda, she is my favorite lady and always come running to me when I open up the coop door. Today when I went outside she was just sitting at the door to go outside, not daring to move. I picked her up and saw that her left foot was fine but her right was limp. Toes were not spread out like they should be, and tail was droopy. Instantly my first choice was to take her inside and give her a epsom salt bath for a few to see if it was egg bound. I put her in the shower with the door shut and a towel to see if she would leave me anything. after about 20 min I go to feel her and establish she is not egg bound. So now I look at her foot and nothing is wrong, no bumble foot, nothing I can see wrong. But she WILL NOT put any weight on her right leg. I look on BYC to see what it could be and I think it may be a break or a dislocation but I cannot tell at all if it is broken or dislocated or not. I need some help, she is my favorite girl and I hate seeing her like this. So any tips on what could be wrong with her, or any ways to help me figure if it is broken or not would be appreciated.
