First in Town

A little known ordinance on the books in our rural village allows for ten hens. A local farmer has brought over a homing pigeon coop that I am retrofitting for chickens. Have ordered a mix of Orpingtons, Wyandottes, USA Brown Gold Star and Production Reds which will arrive May 4. Need to get my brooding stuff in order as well as a run for the hens in our yard. With six kids we wanted an outside pet that gave back.

Please be sure to clean and sanitize the pigeon coop before the chickens use it - that  should be done with any used coops or nest boxes.  :welcome
