I also have seramas, has anyone successfully mixed them with a bigger breed? Even through artificial insemination?

Agreed. But the chances of getting silkie feathers are poor, but you are likely to some silkie feathered chicks. It would be better if you could find a pure hen or rooster.

Mottling is a recessive gene so it's possible none of the chicks will have that spotting. The light grey rooster is 'Splash', so most of his chicks will look similar to the darker grey (Blue) hen.Interesting ive got a couple eggs ready to hatch may 5 from the spotted hen & grey rooster , probably get a nicely colored spotted chick with feathered feat.
