Hi everyone!
The wealth of information here is almost overwhelming. I'm trying to convince my wife to let me keep chickens in our yard and I need to have as much info as I can handle, to answer any question she may have in the process.
Thank you all for being so welcoming!

Usually it's the wife trying (scheming) to convince the husband. However odds are very good your wife will come over to the poultry side Chicks are adorable. Resistance is futile.

Hi and welcome to BYC - I had to do a little convincing also - don't worry, she'll come round in the end

If she doesn't, just get a new wife!

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre (even if you have lots of experience)
https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center, and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/270925/find-your-states-thread

All the best

I got the go-ahead!

We're going to raise up some chicks, along with ours, for the garden teacher at my daughter's school. I'm ready to get the coop, clean it, and build up the run and tractor. First things first: I need to get the brooder in order, agree with the teacher about where we want to order chicks from, and then the waiting really starts.

Excited!!!
