Hello. I have a silky chicken, age unknown. At least a year if not more. We've had our chickens since last July (2015). She lives with 5 Isa's. Just recently she has started staying in the coop which is weird now that the weather is breaking. Usually in the morning I'm greeted and squawked at until I let all of them out. She usually comes trotting out after the bigger ladies. She usually followed them around bUT has stayed in the coop recently and didn't leave once today. She lays in her box we have on the floor. Please help sad.png she's my little fluff ball

She could be broody, have a read of this article and see what you think ~ http://www.backyardchickens.com/a/broody-hens
They are a breed known to be good broodies.

If this is not the case have you done a thorough check on her? Any injuries? Lice/mite check? Egg stuck?

Wow thanks! So is it possible for her to go broody without a roOster around? It is just her, 5 Isa browns, and one that looks like an Isa but with no white at all. We just realized yesterday that something was different so we stayed researching. I got her out of the coop this morning. She walked around trying to find food, drank some water, then made her way back in the coop to eat.
