blindness in ducks

One of my ducks a khaki campbell 'Cocoa' is around 3 three years old.  She has gone blind in one eye - I didn't notice she'd hurt herself or anything just a white film like she has a cateract.  Is there anything I can do and does anyone know if there's a possibility it will go into her other eye? Her other eye is clear at the moment.  She's my cleverest duck and rushes to the glass doors if any preditors are around to tell us I would hate to lose her to a preditor as she's saved many lives of our chickens.

Two dogs - Jack and Bosie, 7 chickens (Dottie,Bracken,Blaze,Amber,Lochie,Mollie and Amber) and 6 ducks (Cocoa,Paddle, Nessie, Mobey, Frazzle and Chocolate)

If you can get a vet to look at her, that would be best - I don't know much about eye ailments.

It could be cataracts, I think, or it could be scarring from something else.

In any case, you are correct that she is now much more vulnerable to predators.  Half her field of vision is gone.  She has protected the flock, now she must herself be protected.

Please PM me, or use @Amiga in the message if you would like to hear from me soon.

I wonder if you could contact a veterinary school - and send them photo's of her eyes.... Just trying to think outside the box, here.
