So, just shy of 7 weeks ago my husband let the dogs out while the chickens were free ranging. The dogs went after the chickens and luckily no one was injured. Unfortunately, my skittish Americauna freaked out and even though she was with the flock when my husband checked on everyone afterwards, she went missing that night and even though we scoured the backyard, we didn't find her.

She showed up the next morning trying to get in the coop and all was well. Except she hasn't laid a single egg since that day. Everyone else is laying, but it's been almost seven weeks for her. We've had great weather, she seems otherwise happy, everything is in order. She is four years old though. Is she likely to start laying again, or is she destined for the stew pot? How much time would you give her?

Easter Eggers are known to be weird layers, and laying is supposed to go down quite a bit nearing 5 years depending on care, my birds after being frightened by a attacker tend to stop laying for a while but not that long. I would check for a secret nest anywhere

There's definitely no secret nest. They don't free range except for a few hours late afternoon and she's always with the other girls. I'm bummed but I'm thinking she doesn't have much longer.
