I purchased both BR from a store that said only pullets. One has always concerned me with slow feathering and lighter barring but it has the dark wash on the legs and the comb is the same size and coloring as the known pullet. It was easy to tell them apart until last week when I noticed the lighter ones stripes aren't as pronounced as they used to be. i plan on selling the pullet but was wondering if I need to wait on the possible Roo or if it's a definite he and just sell them both at the same time --the first two pictures are the same bird

The cocks tend to start and get pointed saddle feathers, though it could be a slow feathering cockerel.
 
On the Barred Rock thread they talk like slow feathering can be a sign that the bars will be more neat. I would say it is probably a pullet. My BR at that age was a lot lighter than yours is. Post pictures again in one week.

It definitely doesn't have the coloring in the comb but tail feathers still haven't caught up to sis'. I'll play the waiting game I guess because it is such a cool chick. Just hangs out with no fussing or flapping when you hold it.

Yes, that is true, but there are just always individual differences. Males do tend to feather slower, but they almost always have big old pink combs by that age. I'm positive it's a pullet, providing it truly is a straight BR. I had a bunch of Silver Phoenix x BR cockerels that for about three weeks seemed to be pure BR pullets, then the pink combs and extra long Phoenix tails showed up (was not aware the phoenix bred the hens, oops).

And speaking of individual differences, sexing being an art more than a science as well as some BR chicks with confusing traits, here are two PULLETS. Yup, both pullets, but being hatchery stock, definitely all over the place as far as color. The light one produced a lot of sons in her life, and she was about as light as any of them were. Lexie and Ivy started my love of BRs years ago.
