If you are sure you have a pair of ducks, they are old enough to mate. Males tend to want to breed a lot earlier than the females. Please post on the "duck thread," for more specific advice.

I'm sorry, but no matter how old the male gets he will never lay a fertile egg...

Sorry, had to say that, lol... anyways, if the duck is laying, then chances are he is fertilizing her... drakes start mating long before the duck starts laying... just crack open an egg and look for a white bullseye with a halo... :)
