Wound of some sort on chick

What is this on 2-day-old chick? Others are pecking it, and making it bleed. Sort of like a skin tag - a little lump. Had to move this chick to its own brooder. Tried warm compresses. What should I do?
 
Where is it exactly? Can you post a picture that shows more of the chick's body?

If it is right at the base of the tail, it could be the oil gland, though don't think it should be brown like that. The oil gland secretes a substance that chickens will preen themselves with to distribute a protective coating throughout its feathers.
