Do ducks really need water at night?

I am getting five ducklings and I am so excited!
I already have chickens.
Chickens do not need water at night, do ducks?
I did not think so but then I read about how allot of duck owners provide water in the ducks sleeping space.
Is it really necessary?

If the ducklings. chicks too, are being kept warm by a heat lamp it is a good idea to have drinking water available. If they will be in the dark, drinking water is not needed.
