New to Iowa & BackYard Chickens

Hey There!
Just moved to Iowa and looking at moving around the Des Moines area. Been trying to see if we can have chickens
in Des Moines. Friends say Ames and Indianola are chicken friendly. Any advice?

Hi Gary and welcome to BYC. It may be best to visit your town / city hall and check out the ordinances on keeping chickens.

I suggest you put your state name in the search box and when it comes up, post to ask about chicken friendly towns , etc. Welcome to Backyard chickens. Hope you find a great place to put a coop.
