I live in vt too. I just had a huge Fox in our field about 100 yards from the coop last week at 1:30 in the afternoon! The Fox around here are getting very bold and it's scary. Your pen should be fine as long as they can't get under it. Have you thought about getting a driveway beeper? You can get them on Amazon pretty cheap. If you get one you can order extra sensors and put them around your coop and have the base in your bedroom. The one we have is very loud and wakes me right up when it beeps. The sensors are battery operated and the base just plugs in an outlet. You can get multiple sensors to work off one base. It's not a fix to the problem but at least it will give you peace of mind while you sleep that your coop isn't under attack. The brand I have is Chamberlain and I think we paid around 40$ for two sensors and one base. I love having the beeper because I feel my animals are safer knowing if something is around I'm going to know about it! My boyfriend was Turkey hunting 4 days ago and about 7 am he saw a little Fox chowing down on a barred rock hen. My neighbor leaves hers outside and it was hers and she said she's lost a few. I don't think I have ever seen such a Fox problem before.
