Introducing treats

Thread Starter

So I've seen a lot of recommendations/videos about treating ducks with peas and corn etc. I tried it with my lil ducky and she won't have a bar of it.

I've tried a few different ways including:

-Eating with her and having some myself before offering it to her

-Putting some in a separate feeding plate and leaving it in a cage with her

-Throwing some into her pool

None seem to interest her and the times she did try it she was mildly interested before she flicked it away. I'm unsure if this means she doesn't LIKE the taste, isn't USED to the taste or just can't get her little beak to handle the corn kernel itself. (She is a pretty small species of duck. Australian Woodduck)

Any advice would be great! I've only tried her on veggies so far but am going to try mealworms soon.

Thanks guys!

It may be too big. I didn't read that you had mashed the corn or peas, so if you hadn't, I would try that. Maybe even a pulse or two in a food processor.
