Bird ID

Hello.  This is not a predator problem at the moment, but I am trying to identify a bird - hawk, I presume, that I have been seeing.  I have only seen this bird in flight on my way home.  In flight, the entire top of the bird is white.  It definitely has the wing span of a hawk or other large bird.  The underside is dark.  Any ideas on what this might be?

Note: Bald Eagles are moving into my area, but I really don't think that this is an eagle.  I've searched red-tailed hawk coloration possibilities, but have found nothing like this.

Try something like this to identify birds. Silhouettes are your best bet for birds in flight. It will narrow down to type of bird then you can narrow more by size and color for species. Red Tail have quite a variation in chest color but will not be white on top.

Thank you.  I've decided to put my camera into my car.  I have an excellent zoom lens and it will be easier to try to pick up the details as far as shape, etc.
