Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Along the back steps is fencing to keep the dog from jumping off them. I don’t know when the fence broke, but I found my beagle hanging by his chain today. Yes, he’s okay. He was on his hind legs, bouncing off the ground to bark at another dog, and didn’t realize he was in danger. I am so glad (obviously) that I noticed him. Beagles bark, and I don’t care for a few minutes.

I just told the kids how great it would be for 1 to serve at the altar and the other 4 will do 4 part harmony for all the services for Christmas.

:lau

Kid#4 already texted back and said, "oops, forgot to say I am sick on that day" :lau

Don't worry, if I tell them that they need to sing, they will sing. :D

We're gearing up for our Christmas Eve service too. Both kids and I are singing. DS, our pianist, and her daughter will be playing a couple musical trios. It will be piano, clarinet, and flute. I wish we could upload little video clips without posting them places first. I did manage a picture at practice the other day though.

Well... smack me!

WHEN will I learn to not wait until so close to a holiday to go grocery shopping?!??!!

Almost zero eggs, only two choices: medium size dozen, or fancy organic brown dozens... and those eggs were at the bulk food store in town.... regular food store had zero eggs.

Zero white chocolate, bars or chips or anything.... zero gluten free quinoa noodles, only the nasty brown rice ones...

Zero crispy english muffins

Zero pre-made peppermint bark.

Zero large dried sausage

Zero high quality semi-sweet chocolate chips

Zero gluten free wafer cookies

Also, I wanted a nice looking "green". I only got green onions... the spinich looked a bit brown and wilty... there were some decent looking dandelion greens... but I wasn't so sure that spouse would go for that.... and the rest looked pretty blah...

I was out and about yesterday too. It's amazing how crazy Walmart was at 1pm on a Tuesday! I did manage to get what I needed but I basically had to crawl the whole way in to the cooler to reach the last of the unsweetened almond milk. I've already done most of my baking. I wasn't able to find cinnamon chips so I couldn't do oatmeal cinnamon cookies this year. I still need to do sugar cookies... we'll see if that actually happens. I still have a bunch of wrapping to do, one more shirt to make, 2 ties to sew and 2 plaques to finish. All that, and DS has a Synergy gig tonight (school's rock band).

(It’s been so long since I have purchased eggs from the store, I have no idea of prices or supply.)

I had to buy them around Halloween.... it was like $5/ dozen and $9 for some 18 packs. It was rediculous! I hadn't bought them in years ..... major sticker shock!

Always so nice to get to do stuff like that together as a family!

We are doing the preliminary Christmas service on Friday morning. It will be a bunch of psalms, gospels, etc... all the stuff leading up to the nativity.

Since Christmas is on Sunday this year we will do our regular Saturday night evening prayers service, and on Sunday morning we will have the long Christmas service.

The congregation all voted, if we wanted to do it Saturday night... or Sunday morning, and we voted for Sunday morning. Saturday night is fun, but the old people in the congregation didn't want to stay up late! :lau

Lol! We always do a Christmas eve service with cookies and hot chocolate in the hall before hand, a candlelight vigil, special music and usually a story time based on the nativity during church for the little kids to come up front and listen to. They will be doing a Christmas day service too but we won't be going to that one. We live an hour away from our church, up and over a mountain and a half. It would just add too much to an already packed day.

Just got word that school has been canceled for tomorrow so the kids Christmas break starts now. I'm glad I got everything wrapped today lol

The church we currently attend always has a Christmas Eve service. We have been going for years, even though it wasn’t our home church when we first started. The little country church we belonged to had a candlelight Christmas morning service. I miss that…
