Thanks. I have such an awesome family! We lost Aunt Shirley over 10 years ago. For her funeral, Uncle Lloyd bought brand new bib overalls and stuck a new turkey feather in his hat - the old feather was a little ratty looking. When we still had custody of Jamie and Little Diane, he showed up here in his little camper. We set it up, and he said he planned to stay with us for a week. Well, Little Diane was playing soccer so he decided he'd stick around a little longer and catch a couple of her games. Then school started, and Jamie joined the football team. Uncle Lloyd didn't want to miss that, so he stayed a little longer. Turned out he stayed here for a little over a month, and we loved every second of it. The kids even threatened to flatten his tires the night before he left to go back to Deadwood. Several days after he had gone home, Little Diane suddenly looked at me and asked, "Why does Lloyd call you 'Tonto'?"
Blooie, thank you so very much for sharing such a "tender" story here at the pond.
I loved it!
