The 9th one just popped out. Coal black! I started with 19 shipped eggs, from Florida to West Virginia. 2 were infertile, 1 developed a blood ring within the first week. The other 16 made it all the way to lockdown.
2 still have pips and "should" hatch. Of the remaining 5, I pulled one when I got some chicks out and it was dead. I suspect 3 others dead. The last one, I have not decided yet, but they will stay in for a while longer.
Serama have a lethal gene which usually kills 25% of the chicks. Plus throw in the shipping variable, and I consider myself very lucky right now. I am very happy with my results already, even if no more hatch.
