I've still found these to be the easiest to use.  I've got several now.  They are 100watts.

A few of them I have shared between two pens, by putting it next to the fence and cutting a slot for the trough to stick through.

Although.... this morning, I actually noticed a fine bit of slush out around the edge of the trough.

never seen any of the smaller ones like the 80 watt. Just googled found a 50 and an 80. The smaller one would have worked in my waterers. Oh well, what I got seems to be working so far. I tried heat tape on the pipes for the drum waterer but it is froze solid in the pipes. I need to redo the insulation as I think it part of the issue plus the waterer was already froze when I added the tape and it just may not get warm enough to thaw it out. Still got to play with it and figure it out

My birds always seem to make a mess out of those type of waterers.

The voices in my head are fighting again.

My imaginary friend is running with scissors, and one of my personalities wandered off.

I don't like to think before I speak. I like to be just as surprised as everyone else about what comes out my mouth.

Sometimes even I am afraid of the things my mind comes up with.

This is my first year with the 80 watt ones. Hopefully you're able to figure out how to keep the big one ice free.

Me too - the skank from their beaks seems to make the rest of the water mingjng (at least here, where its always hottish). If i could only find a feeder that could minimise waste I'd be happy - the water stuff is easier to get around, here at least.

That one looks pretty good.  Wonder if it would be ok to insert into a pvc tube?

going to stop and get fiberglass insulation like it suggests and wrap it, then cover it up with something the birds can't get to. I'm sure the genius ducks would eat fiberglass hmm.png

For minimizing waste I've found the nipples to be best.

Would have to be a fairly large diameter pipe for it to fit.
