@ Chaos, I read your signature lines to the Princess yesterday.  Her reaction, "Oh, I see that you have found a kindred spirit".

Well people do say that you can learn more from losing then you ever would from winning.

:gig Sounds like the Princess knows you well.

The voices in my head are fighting again.

My imaginary friend is running with scissors, and one of my personalities wandered off.

I don't like to think before I speak. I like to be just as surprised as everyone else about what comes out my mouth.

Sometimes even I am afraid of the things my mind comes up with.

Cookie making is done for the day.  5 dozen chocolate chippers ended up in the garbage.  Far be it for me to infer that someone screwed up the batter.  :hide  I resisted when pink butter cookie dough encouraged me to do bad things when rolling it into cylinders to go into the cookie press.  Tomorrow should complete our endeavors.

So of 49 nyd hatch eggs I have 27 developing...one possible developer, and the east were infertile(ohiki), bloodrings(SFH eggs, old eggs, and 2 leghorns) or scrambled by the PO. I have 4 barnvelders developing but they don't look good at all. Poor weak veining and one sfh shipped that is developing. It has the beat veining of the 5 shipped eggs that are left.

I wish I could find some bamboo that would grow here..... I noticed on the show "Alone" that there is some type of bamboo that grows in Patagonia.... And it gets down to single digits in the winter there.

Walnut awesome... I seriously used to smoke so much meat and fish.... And make great sausage..... But the last year of so I just can't bring my self to do it for just me and my wife. I don't even seem to like eating a lot of meat anymore. We actually split a steak..... I used to make a ton of wine, ciders and made too..... But then I quit drinking so I gave all my supplies away.

For the ham, just salt and sugar.

For the bacon, raw cane sugar and salt.

All smoked over a mix of pecan, hickory and apple until they reached the appropriate temps.  It is a weird experience eating "raw" bacon that has been fully smoked cooked to safe temps, then fry some up the conventional way for a different flavor.

The roast beef is seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic, rosemary, thyme and oregano.  I'll cook it through to medium rare, chill it then slice it thin.

All the meat is being packaged up, frozen, and put away for lunchmeat.  Hams are on sale right now at the grocery store, if you don't like paying $6 a pound for pressed ham slices, get a cheap ham, separate the muscle groups, and slice up your own!
Bacon is the one thing I've always wanted to make but have not had the chance yet.
