Sad day. Found the remnants of Katherine. Nothing left but feathers. I assume fox. Either she went out there to nest, and got discovered, or something came in a drug her out. Just a few feet beyond the yard fence. sad.png

This is my first predator loss at home. Guess I better get the traps back out.

In happier news, I got Sara and the littles out into the baby coop. Keeping the cochin, the booted Serama, and the 2 silky seramas inside to hand raise for a while longer.

Sure does. She was one of the 2 oldest birds I had at home. Hatched her not quite 2 years ago, with Armand. She was a great broody. I will miss her bunches. But I am relieved to know. I would not have given up hope that she would return in a month with chicks in tow.

Sorry about Katherine.  Keep an eye on the skies - BOP frequently scatter feathers like that when feeding.

First rule a country boy learns - Never make contact with the item being defrosted.

14 dozen Hungarian cookies completed.  I have been granted 'lunch break'.  So the Princess is rolling dough, and cutting into rectangles, I am filling with jam and folding - wait she's dancing to Christmas rock music.  I've seen the commercials.  I know all about this so I ask, "Is this a 'special' moment'? "  She laughed.  :th  Where did I go wrong ?

Christmas rock music? Not heard of that stuff - has Princess been at the sherry? Likely you went wrong many moons ago (literally)  - too late to sweat that, Sour :P
