I mist or sponge later in incubation, once a day... I prefer to do it after the embryo is good and established, developing well... they only need a few days of it, depending on the air cells...

So do it for a couple days prior to lockdown? Or do you even really do lockdown with them?

The voices in my head are fighting again.

My imaginary friend is running with scissors, and one of my personalities wandered off.

I don't like to think before I speak. I like to be just as surprised as everyone else about what comes out my mouth.

Sometimes even I am afraid of the things my mind comes up with.

I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world either. If I sold completely out I would keep the call ducks

Same here... love those smart little chits, lol...

I start around day 17 or so... usually 3 or 4 days, but monitor the air cells and continue longer if needed... lockdown is such a misnomer... but I stop turning day 22... and up humidity at first pip...

Most of mine hatch completely on their own now, but the snowys I still tend to help more with...

As a general guideline try to give them 24 hrs from internal pip to external pip before providing a safe hole?

Still better than a guy trying to hatch in his pocket!
I believe Chris and Chaos beat me to the Pond... but the first filter hadn't clogged yet... gig.gif

And you let us think that poor little drake was just being a jerk! tongue2.gif
The little guy just got sick and tired of being picked on!

I shoulda tried my pocket...just checked my bator and the thermostat had hung up in a hot way. he.gif
The egg I put the spot check on cooled quickly so I'm hoping they weren't that hot for too long.
