Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

So here is "Loverboy" tom turkey. I think he is getting the idea that he needs a girlfriend, but he hasn't yet figured out which ones are girls. And those that are are shunning his advances. And his daddy smacks him upside the head every time he displays. Here is is with daddy. Daddy is up front, boy is in the back.
Such pretty boys, Walnut. Turkeys are so cool! Bailey's an Alaskan Malamute. I remember picking her up from the breeders years ago when she was a little fuzzball sitting on my lap. She's a big girl

Well, he shouldn't have any trouble with the girls when they are ready. He's a looker! And I'd like your opinion on what this little one may turn out like. A friend of mine just hatched it, the only fertile one she had.

He should look just like "Loverboy" (who will be getting a new name, just haven't thought of one yet).

Awesome. Is there a name for them? (I thought maybe he was one of your project colors)
That is the purest form of Bronze. Most "Bronze" turkeys have been mixed with other colors so they are no longer pure and have off colors, most of mine included. Every once in a while you get a throwback to clean genetics and you see what the original turkey color is.

Any "hidden" genes will show up by the first set of adult plumage...the only ones that can be hidden with that base color are white and black wing, and both of those leave hints in the adult plumage.
