Wondering if these breeds of chicks will be okay together

Hi, everyone!

I'm getting a handful of chicks from a local farm tomorrow and I just wanted to know if these breeds would do okay together. I don't want them to be too aggressive towards each other, and I also want some good layers! I'm only able to have 4 chickens on my property according to my city's regulations which is just fine with me, but I want to make the most of it. I considered getting all 4 the exact same breed but I'd like to have a little variety if possible.

I was thinking:

1 red sexlink

1 black sexlink

1 black australorp

1 buff orpington

I'm an absolute beginner; I don't have experience raising chicks myself but I've been trying to gather as much info as possible to create a good life for these layers. The coop is built, the brooder is all set up and I'm prepared, but I'd love any comments regarding if those breeds are (from your experience) good together and good layers. Those are the important factors to me.

Thank you for the help! :)

Welcome!  If raised together, and plenty of room, your group sounds fine.  Enjoy!

You might want to Google the personality of each breed. I think the sex link is fairly docile as well as the orpington. Not sure of the australorp. If she's not you might consider a Barred Rock. They are very docile, people friendly, beautiful, smart and lay large brown eggs. They are cold hardy as well. I got my first 7 Barred Rocks this spring. By 6 days old the chicks were jumping in my lap! The most friendly Chick's I've ever had!

Thanks, I'll search them a bit more! I'm sort of limited in what breeds I can get but I'll certainly check that out. Adorable little guy! :D

They will be fine together. The sexlinks will be your best layers.

Yes, they'll have a good amount of room. Thank you!
