Hi! I'm looking into getting a gosling and raising him/her with my hens, and i was wondering a couple of things, where would be the best place to get a gosling and at what age is ideal? Is one gender sweeter then the other, they will have 6 chickens and a controling rooster around them 24/7 and my family will be in frequent contact with them. Is it important who if anyone the gosling imprints on and if they imprint on a chicken will they still allow me to touch my chickens and be around them? Thank yall

I prefer getting day olds.
The "best" place would really depend on what breed you wanted as well as quality wise. We do have some excellent breeders on here though.
I find geese to be friendlier than ganders but there have been exceptions to the rule.

It would probably be easier if they imprinted on you but with plenty of interaction they should still be fine.

My geese have never been lap birds but I've usually never had any issues with collection eggs or checking them over for medical issues.

I've had great experience with Pomeranian Geese. I've also heard pilgrims are pretty docile.

Sebastopols are some of the sweetest geese, you can search for info on different breeds, there's alot of information out there. I would suggest getting a minimum of 2 goslings.
