Male or female?

This is Chaps. All I know is the father is a white favorelle mix. The mother is either a silver laced wyandotte or buff orpington.

Chaps is now 9 days old and has part of a comb showing. Is it too early to tell sex? S/he rarely sits still, so this is the best picture I could get of the face.

Mother was Wyandotte. I won't guess at sex as I've little experience with rose comb.

This one is 7 weeks old and similar to Chaps but has 5 toes on each foot like their father.

The tail isn't really developed, but their much older half-sister Casper didn't develop her tail until she was nearly 3 months old. It's currently a fluffy area, one of the only places without feathers.
